Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund

The mission of the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund is two-fold. First, it helps offset the high cost of a college education for the sons and daughters of American heroes. Second, it is a reminder to the recipient that their parents’ sacrifice will never be forgotten by a grateful nation. The generosity of patriotic Americans has made it possible for the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund to award more than $1 million each year in college scholarships. Scholarships are awarded to the dependent sons or daughters of a U.S. Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Guardsman or Marine who has been killed in action or in a training accident. Children of the Fallen San Juan River Expedition

No Barriers Youth, part of the larger nonprofit organization No Barriers USA, is partnering with the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation to invite the children of fallen service members to, "carry on the legacy of their loved ones as they experience the transformative power of rafting down the San Juan River." The organization believes that, "[t]his challenging and empowering expedition will provide opportunities to unite adversities and embrace vulnerability to live a 'No Barriers Life.'"

For those who wish to participate in this program, students must fill out an *application and submit it for selection/approval. The early application deadline is March 11, 2016, and the late application deadline is two weeks later, on March 25. (*Two references from educators are required as part of the final application.)

This program will take place July 21-29, 2016 on the San Juan River, a tributary of the Colorado River, in northern Arizona.
